What is the current law regarding the sale of marijuana in Amsterdam?

I read somewhere that they were to change the law, so only Dutch nationals can buy marijuana in coffeeshops, has this come into effect. if not, when will it?

Also, have magic mushrooms become outlawed at present? I read they were also going to be banned from being sold in shops completely.

Two questions in one, both of which have been answered here at least once this week...

Anyway; The "only for Dutch citizens law" is something that has only been suggested and since it's discriminatory it will probably never happen...

Magic mushrooms are on their way out... You'll probably not find any legal ones anymore in a matter of weeks...

Coffeeshops are NOT in trouble and the quality is the same as it ever was, you just don't want to go to any coffeeshops that are there just for tourists as they sell low quality for high prices...

@ Oxyn; You'll just need to find a better coffeeshop next time, but your story about the quality going down and problems with growers etc, is incorrect...

I just came back from Amsterdam after 5 years.

They changed all kinds of laws trying to accomodate EU norms.

...Not good...

there's no more growing allowed in Holland, Coffee Shops still exist and sell up to 5 gr. per person. Prices vary from 12 euros to 20+euros for a gram or two sometimes.

Since the growing went underground and the way "coffee shops get it from the growers" is illegal, then prices went up and quality and variaty went down.

Sorry, it's not the same as it was before 2005.

Mushrooms are also on thin ice, but they are still out there, look for them, you'll find a nice variaty still and very fresh.
