What is a good degree to have for law enforcement?

I am kind of thinking of a career in law enforcement and I have heard Criminal Justice is useless because you pretty much learn that type of thing in Police Academy and on the job. So does anyone have any other degrees that would be useful for law enforcement?

business management

MBA (masters)

nobody in our agency is an LT or above w/o a masters

Sorry, CJ is the preferred degree. Yes it is pretty much useless but you need the 2 or (preferably) 4 year degree just to get in. That piece of paper is your pass key to get into the front door.

Accounting

Nothing useless of a criminal justice degree. You may learn a lot of it in academy, but it's a free ticket to get in the academy in the first place! That said, you can also consider studying pre-law, criminology, forensic science, chemistry, biology, or even liberal arts. They all give you something you can use in law enforcement.

p.s. I almost forgot another really big one: psychology.
