What is causing my mother in-law that had a cerebellum stroke to see colored spots?

My mother in law had a stroke that affected her cerebellum and now she is seeing yellow, green and purple spots is that normal and what could be causing this. I need any info anyone might have about this kind of stroke.

A stroke can cause ANY SYMPTOMS.

The effected are of the brain is what is the cause. eye sight is from the back of the brain and any thing that would effect that area would cause visual problems.

i dont know about strokes, but when the retina is torn in the eye, the person can see lights. can be flashing lights shaped like Zs or Ws. probably could look different than that. i never heard of the colors and maybe is unrelated to torn retinas, but she should definately alert her doctor to the situation. IF the retinas are torn, they can detach which means blindness if they cant repair it. she would want to catch it and repair it before they become detached. if torn or detached, the person should not bend over or lift. it is serious and should be taken care of immediately. good luck!
