How much money does it cost to pass a law?

I am doing a speech on dumb laws throughout the United States and I was wondering if anyone really knows how much it cost to pass a state law? If you do can you leave me a reference.

How much does a car cost? That's kind of the same type of question. It can be a little or a hell of a lot. So let's say that we want to pass a law that requires one less piece of information from a person seeking to start a limited partnership (yawn). If there is no opposition to this bill, then it should pass and not take much time or money to get it passed. On the other hand, lets talk about requiring illegal immigrant mothers on medicare to abort their babies, and all of a sudden you have a hot issue, with political action committees, lobbyists, etc..., and the costs go way up.

So there really is no hard and fast answer to your question.
